Recently, Walgreens has been all about process innovation, especially incrementally. For the pharmacy operations, they created a workflow tool that is to be followed based on how many employees are in the pharmacy. The workflow tool helps to tell each person where they should be and what their duties are in that area. In the assigned area they are supposed to do the main tasks first and when they see that another area needs help they can by doing the secondary tasks. This tool has helped the flow of the pharmacy to make sure that all tasks are being completed, lines keep moving, and patients are getting the service that they need. This tool has helped tremendously and if there are any flaws seen, they can be fixed with minor changes.
