Walgreens is an organization that has many leaders. Each manager runs their store as they see fit for the employees that they have. There are three interdependent activities that leader must successfully engage in for their company to be successful, set the direction, design the organization, and nurture a culture dedicated to excellence and ethical behavior. Walgreens upper managers like the district managers are the ones that set the direction and design the organization. They do this by telling each store manager the goals that they want the store to accomplish and how they should accomplish those goals. The managers of the store are the ones that nurture a culture dedicated to excellence and ethical behavior by keeping the employees updated on where they are with their goal and possible ways that can help them reach that goal. The store managers are there to keep enforcing ways for the goal to be met and to make sure that everyone is doing everything possible for them to meet that goal. For example, Walgreens sets goals for immunizations. To get the goal of immunizations at my store, we ask each patient that is coming to get a prescription if they are here to get an immunization, and we tell them which ones they are overdue for to encourage them to get it.
